Cookie Policy
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies PreCheck uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.
Last updated: 21 April 20261. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site operator.
This policy also applies to similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags where they serve comparable purposes.
2. How we use cookies
PreCheck uses cookies to:
- Keep you signed in and maintain your session.
- Protect against cross-site request forgery and other security threats.
- Remember your preferences, such as dismissed notifications.
- Understand how visitors use the Platform so we can improve it.
3. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
Required for the Platform to function. Without these, core features such as authentication and secure form submission would not work. These cookies do not require consent.
- PHPSESSID (or equivalent session cookie) – maintains your authenticated session.
- CSRF token cookie – protects forms from cross-site request forgery.
Functional cookies
Used to remember choices you make, such as UI preferences. These are only set when needed and typically expire after a short period.
Analytics cookies
If enabled, used to understand aggregate usage of the Platform. Analytics cookies are only set where you have given consent (where required by law).
Third-party cookies
Certain providers that we use may set their own cookies:
- Stripe – for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe's cookie settings.
4. Cookie lifetimes
Cookies on our Platform are either:
- Session cookies – deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies – remain on your device until they expire or are deleted. Persistent cookies used by PreCheck typically expire within 12 months.
5. Managing your cookie preferences
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies stored on your device.
- Delete cookies individually or in bulk.
- Block cookies from specific sites or all sites.
- Receive a notification when cookies are set.
Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working.
Browser-specific guides:
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no universal standard for responding to DNT signals, and PreCheck does not currently respond to them. You can, however, control cookies using the methods described above.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or to comply with legal requirements. The "Last updated" date indicates when the latest changes were made.
